Global Bridge-Malibu United Charity Soccer Tournament

Malibu Charity Soccer Tournament August 14, 2010

The first annual seven-a-side Malibu United Charity Soccer Tournament was held on August 14th, 2010 at Malibu High School.

Over the years soccer players have come together in Malibu from different continents, and cultures, speaking many different languages. The joy, respect, and cooperation experienced while playing this internationally revered game created the desire to sponsor a fundraiser.

The 2010 inaugural tournament supported by Global Bridge Foundation is a collaborative effort to raise funds for those who lack the basic needs of food, shelter and medical care. The Mission of Global Bridge is to contribute to the alleviation of poverty and hunger, and to work toward a more compassionate, peaceful world by funding self-sustaining programs.  Global Bridge matches dollar for dollar all funds that are raised through the tournament. Jointly, this grant has been offered to the International Medical Corps which serves countries in the greatest need throughout the world.

The tournament was played on August 14, 2010 at Malibu High School’s upper playfields, and used a seven-a-side format.  The event was sold out and was a huge success.
